Hi! Welcome to Make Good Places, a resource for the growing community of DIYers and professional interior designers creating happier homes that are healthier for people and planet.
Our homes aren’t designed to foster healthy or sustainable living. We live in an age of overconsumption and planned obsolescence, the results of which overflow our landfills, contaminate our water and soil, and put people across supply chains at risk. Our homes are filled with toxic chemicals, fast furniture, polluted air, and cheap vinyl and plastics. Our homes disconnect us from nature and one another. This community is here to help.
Make Good Places gives you the information you need to minimize the impact of your home on the planet while maximizing its impact on your health. It combines The Library, a database of vintage vendors and sustainable products, with The Guidelines, which are actionable design strategies that empower more holistic and nourishing ways of designing our homes and lives.
Make Good Places is grounded in a few simple ideas: that our homes shape our individual and collective wellbeing; that we can all make one good choice at a time; and that every person has the capacity to regenerate the world.
